Why You Should Sign-up for the TNL Summit
Over the past three and one-half years, TNL staff has traveled throughout the country conducting culturally based, leadership training sessions for youth from communities such as Mentasta, AK, Hardrock, AZ, Bishop, CA, Presque Isle, ME and Livingston, TX.
The Today’s Native Leaders program has helped youth acknowledge the value of their home communities, and to create service projects that serve their communities. A highlight of the TNL program is that it is youth led and this helps participants to set their goals high and step out of their comfort zone, embracing healthy choices.
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear what Native youth have been doing to create positive change in their communities by conducting service projects. The Today’s Native Leaders National Summit will convene in Denver, CO on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, Denver, CO.
Youth teams from across the country will share their completed service projects, discuss accomplishments and plans for the future. This will be a time for all in attendance to hear first hand about how the momentum around the Today’s Native Leaders program is growing in Native youth circles.
National Summit participants will also take part in break out sessions where peer leaders who have mastered aspects of the training curricula will lead group exercises to further engage youth on that particular subject. During these sessions, youth who have completed a service project will have the opportunity to provide an introspective to that particular element of the curriculum, like developing budgets.
More than 400 youth are expected to attend this FREE event. Go to the UNITY website to register to attend the TNL National Summit. You are sure to enjoy what you will learn that day!
