UNITY Presents before the Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona

Jared Massey Addresses Inter-Tribal CouncilPhoenix, Arizona – On September 26, 2014 the annual meeting of the 22 Tribes of Arizona reconvened for a morning of addressing issues impacting Arizona tribal communities. It was also a day recognized as National Native American Day across the United States.

UNITY, Inc. Executive Director, Mary Kim Titla, and UNITY Program Support Assistant, Jared Massey, presented before more than 15 distinguished tribal leaders. Led by Massey, the presentation focused on the importance and significance of UNITY from a Native youth leader perspective. He also shared UNITY highlights from the past year, since moving its headquarters to Mesa, Arizona.

“UNITY pretty much changed my life, I cannot stress enough the role UNITY played in my preparation for college and life.  Prior to my involvement with UNITY I was not very outspoken, in fact, I was very shy. As I became active with UNITY through the White Mountain Apache Youth Council, I experience personal growth, allowing me to conquer the fear and find my voice. I want to encourage tribes that don’t have an established youth council to consider establishing one, it’ll be beneficial to your community, and tribe” stated Massey during his presentation.

UNITY will celebrate its one year anniversary move to Arizona on December 29, 2014 in Mesa, Arizona with a 1 Year Grand Opening event featuring special guest speakers and tours of the UNITY office.
