“The Voice” season 13 finalist, Brooke Simpson, to appear at National UNITY Conference
Internationally renowned vocalist, Brooke Simpson, who was a top 3 finalist on NBC’s “The Voice”, will provide a keynote address at UNITY’s national youth leadership development gathering, with more than 2,000 expected to attend. The 42nd Annual National UNITY Conference will take place July 5 – 9, 2018, at the Town & Country Resort and Conference Center in San Diego, California.
Simpson, who is Haliwa-Saponi and grew up on tribal grounds in Hollister, North Carolina, is a powerhouse vocalist who is passionate about songwriting and people. During her time on the reality show “The Voice”, she worked with her coach, Miley Cyrus, charting on the iTunes top 10 week after week, culminating in an impressive 3rd place finish on the shows 13th season.
“We are ecstatic that Brooke Simpson has accepted our invitation to share her journey and experience of successes, and challenges, that has led her to where she is at today,” said Mary Kim Titla, UNITY’s Executive Director. “I believe her personal story will encourage and inspire our attendees to pursue their passions and goals, despite adversity. And maybe she will bless us with a song or two!” she added.
Simpson is scheduled to appear on Sunday, July 8, during the general assembly. The one-of-a-kind five-day conference will also feature and engage Native youth in peer-led workshops, fitness activities and access to educational and career exhibitors.
