Nation Building For Native Youth 2016

UNITY, in partnership with the Nick Lowery Youth Foundation, is now taking application for the 2016 Nation Building for Native Youth (NBNY) taking place Friday May 6 through Sunday May 8, 2016 at UNITY headquarters in Mesa, Arizona.

There are a limited number of scholarships available for this unique and exciting event. NBNY’s emphasis and focus is on your Future in Championship Advocacy and Problem Solving in Indian Country! Former UNITY Co-Presidents and leaders Josh Tso, J’shon Lee, Jared Ivins-Massey and many others have been outstanding participants and, later, peer leaders for NBNY.

Developed at Harvard from 2000-2002, NBNY has trained 500 Native youth from over 30 tribes over 15 years; it is a powerful mix of public speaking, leadership styles, and creative group skills, along with inspirational talks from national figures like Internationally-acclaimed speakers Pasqua Yaqui musician Gabriel Ayala and ‘Rich Dad/Poor Dad’ author Sharon Lechter, Be Legendary’s James Carter, and NFL Oakland Raiders All-Pro Legend Lincoln Kennedy, and led by Nick Lowery, former 2-time White House Office of National Service staffer, NFL Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Famer, co-founder of Native Vision, and former Chair/Founding Director of the National Fund for Excellence in American Indian Education.
